A long needed update. Now that school is over for the summer I can concentrate on ethe plants once again. My nepenthes grow seasonally due to the light cycles of the Canadian winters and summers. So, they usually slow down and not pitcher in the winter but start again in the summer. Here are a few things that are coming back with the longer days: N. flavaN. platychilaN. sanguineaN. 'Lady Pauline' N. truncata "pasian" N. jamban - grows well on the windowsill, coming back from a thrip infestation. Anthurium crystallinum - not a CP, but nice nonetheless. Leaves feel like leather and the veins look like they're coated in glitter. This Finally came back after I though I had lost it. The larger in belongs to my grandmother. Developing in the next few days: N. tenuis N. ventricosa x (ventricosa xxTrusmandiensis) N. veitchii (k)

hey carnivoure12
I am curious to how u battled the thrips out of ur collection. I understand that these bugs are like aids as it is quite difficult to get rid of completely.
Cheers Mark

marky, I've treated them with neem oil, you just have to keep going at them because they multiply fast. Mine aren't totally gone yet because neem works but isn't that potent. I've heard the best and most effective thing to use is imidacloprid but I can't find any locally.
Neem oil works, but you have to keep applying for a few weeks.

My grandmother got it for me from a friend of hers. That's where she got hers.
