Thanks for those links Lloyd and Shoggoths.
I'll try and look up the info in them and will make a post of what I find there.

My laueana has a crimson flower with a white spot and much more pointed leaves than yours, Martin. I'll start some leaf pullings.

Shoggs, your P. laueana looks exactly like mine from BCP and they came labelled as the variety from the Sierre Mixe region of Mexico. They tend to grow in a rounded mound, at least in their succulent form and out of it from the looks of your plant. Great looking plant btw. dvg

Amazing plants martin! I have some problems with my pinguiculas this summer, because i added to much water too quickly after their dormancy. I noticed that i have some species/hybrids you dont have. Im looking forward for a trade with you this summer! We are in the same area !

Thanks for the confirmation DVG.
I sent you a email Maiden.
Too bad about your pings. I keep mine in an almost 100% mineral mix with low water level year round and have few lost this way but the plants are growing slower. I think it is easier this way than with a high peat mix.

True.
In my setup, i had to adapt the watering becauz my relative humidity is kind of high. With 75%RH, i water my pings once a month. Same for my cephalotus.

Some very nice work there Mr. Shoggs. Your work with pollinating mexi-ping flowers and making either species seed or hybrid crosses is what inspired me to try my hand at pollinating these flowers. Recently I have been able to make the following crosses that have successfully germinated. P. agnata x colimensis
P. colimensis x agnata
P. colimensis x heterophylla
P. moranensis x heterophyllaP. agnata (colored and scented seedgrown form) x heterophylla. Just noticed that two of these sprouted up overnight. dvg

Very nice! sumiana or lauedero? Thanks Hal, I'm thinking of something a little bit fancy. I'm sure a lot of people would not like it but it would be representative... I'll think about it a bit longer Thanks DVG. I have other seeds sprouting too. I'm especially looking forward a ANPA 'A' x moctezumae cross (thank to Hal for the moctezumae flower, I have really great difficulty with this plant). Good luck with your seedlings, P. colimensis x heterophylla should give a rather nice ping ! I'm looking forward for your pics. I talk about genetic with one of my colleague today and he told me I should also sow the seeds I get from the hybrid self crossing. The result could be rather different depending of the chromosome dominance. My problem is if I do so, it will rapidly take a lot of space. Anyway, do you have a trick to bring those seedlings to maturity? They are so slow growing for me. Shogg

Shogg Although some mexi-pings will grow out faster than others, I've found that sprinkling a bit of freeze-dried bloodworm dust onto the seedlings regularly, once every two to three weeks, seems to bring them along much quicker than the unfed seedlings. dvg

Great work Martin! That is interesting the lower middle petal has split like that. Maybe it will be just that flower and the rest will be normal? If not you have a cool Ping on your hands!
Sumidero 1 is probably one of my favourite Pings just for the flower, laueana is a great mix for it. Too bad the flower isn't more red, but maybe a back cross with laueana would produce red?

I'll think about it a bit longer Maybe something from HP Lovecraft? You know you can register hybrids at the ICPS. www.carnivorousplants.org/cultivars/names.php?name=Pinguicula

Shogg Thanks Shogg, the ones that I have my eye on are the P. agnata x colimensis. Some of the seedlings are showing the mother plant's P. agnata purple leaves at a very tiny size. The reverse cross, P. colimensis x agnata with the P. colimensis as the mother isn't showing any color in the seedling leaves yet. dvg

You know you can register hybrids at the ICPS. www.carnivorousplants.org/cultivars/names.php?name=PinguiculaHa ha ha, that's so great. I had never seen this picture before. What a bunch of crazy guy. I would really have love to give some tribute to Lovecraft but someone already did it with the utric it would end out to be confusing. I looked at the ICPS link yesterday and find this option interesting. At least, to promote the plant. You're right Drew. I though about that too. On of my ping gave me a 4 leave flower once but never did it again afterward. I will perhaps wait for the second flower to see how it looks but the splitting is really well done and do not seem to be a flaw. Great DVG. I'm looking forward for some pics. My agnata are rather plain, I have difficulty visualize your upcoming plants.
