Hello
I need to get a heap of live sphagnum moss ( New Zealand preferably) if I can find any. If anyone has some for please let me know. If anyone can tell me where I can buy some other than ebay I would appreciate it.
Thank you

The hawaiian botanicals kind is red, and I think Rick mixes three species.

Rick's is not bad stuff, but you have to find the conditions to suit it. It won't seem to grow as a topdressing. I would send you some but I don't have nearly enough.

Here are some pics I took just in case you change your mind. The redness certainly doesn't allow plants to stand out, unless they're green, but it's not bad quality sphagnum. high humidity, low-ish light.. overcrowding genlisea low light, high humidity sorry, this pic is a bit blurry. This sphagnum is the same, but it growing oddly small. high light intensity, low humidity but the water level is high to help keep it from browning.

I dunno.. I suppose it could be carpet moss, but it doesn't really look like it that much. It doesn't seem to hurt the plants as long as there aren't too many.

Yep, I started adding lime to the soil, and fertilizing my backyard last year. A few more years and it will be gone. This is some that I used until a week ago: The dark splotches are the moss in the yard. The area shown is about 75' X 125'. I'm in Mt Uniacke, NS. You're welcome to gather as much as you can use Yes, that's an archery butt in the background.
