Congrats on that flower on a very fine looking plant. Hopefully you took a shot at pollinating what appears to be a very easy flower with the pollen flap so easily accessible... ...can almost see the two pollen balls right behind that small veil. dvg

Thanks dvg. I did pollinate this flower with its own pollen, along with pollinating a P. Sumidero 1 with the gypsicola pollen. Hopefully both take

Hi Drew,
I'm looking to build a grow room in my basement but I hesitate between building a room (8'X10') or buying a tent (8'X8') like yours. I have some questions about your tent.
1. How do you bring the electricity in ? Can you put electrical outlet in there ?
2. Do you think it is easy to keep temperature and humidity in the tent different from the one in the basement ? I would like to heat my basement and dehumidify it but not the inside of the tent.
3. Is it easy to hang things (like big nepenthes of lights) in the tent or you need to build some structure in it ?
Oh, and if you had the choice (no limitation) would you buy a tent or build a room ?
If you prefer, we can do this by PM but I think someone else could be interested in the answers.
Tks
Shogg

Hi Martin, no problem over the boards, maybe some other people have suggestions as well. If I had the money, I would most definitely build a proper grow room but for now the tent works great. 1. My tent is about 4" away from the plug on the wall of the basement so I run a large power strip/timer to it and this sits inside the tent raised above the ground to avoid any condensation that builds up. I would think installing a GFCI plug inside the tent would be a good idea, but I am no electrician 2. For me I find it quite easy to keep the different temperatures and humidity. During the hottest days when I am blowing a lot of air into the tent, the temperature rises slightly and humidity rises in the basement noticeably, but at night with the window open its back to normal in the AM. I only have to drop the temperature of the tent by about 5-10C at most generally though. Obviously this would be harder if your temperature difference was greater. 3. The tent has a very strong frame, and I would have no problem hanging a good amount of weight from the frame. I can take photos of this if you would like. There is a grow room build on CPUk and the guy did a phenomenal job. Ill see if I can find you the link and post it here. Found it: www.cpukforum.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=40238

Ok, thank a lot for the answer.
The link is great and gives me a lot of shortcut about what I need/will do. I'll definitely go with a grow room now.
I was looking to build something not to permanent if I need to change the basement setting again in a few years.

I think that is the best idea next to a real greenhouse. The one in the link would be relatively easy to take down if built with screws.
Be sure to take lots of pictures Martin! I'm excited to see what you come up with.

Yeah,
I'm exited too. I'll try to keep it simple and do a "one day" sprint with my dad. I'll post some pics and how much it did cost me for futur comparison...
In the beginning, I'll do it like you, a table and my actual terra but will try to bring it better and create a suitable growing environment over time.
The domatic of the room in the link is just crazy ... another futur project.
Tks again.

Ya I did that until I had humidity worked out to where I wanted it.
Yes he went "all out" with his grow room, but it obviously is working great!
