Anyone know where I can get horticultural gypsum?
What if I just grind up some wallboard? (half serious - but concerned about additives or adhesives)
Thanks,
Hal

No idea but I know the house stuff has a calcium something component which when mixed with water (defines the water color) leeches the calcium out. I know that excessive calcium would probably kill a plant (no idea from experience though) so I would say its a no go. But I think you should keep looking!

Home Hardware stocks a 25kg bag of granulated horticultural gypsum in their warehouse--it retails for $29.99 (not that every store would have it in stock, but they could make a special order for you.) They used to keep 1L containers of liquid gypsum, but unfortunately seem to have discontinued those. There may still be stores out there with the 1L stock left on their shelves, though. It wouldn't hurt to call around to the stores in your area.
