I was just wondering, but what is better, peat pellets or actual dead peat moss? or is there any difference? because i have a venus flytrap that is in peat pellet soil, and its not doing so well (very small and green).

Expandable peat pellets contain fertilizer, from what I remember. It's better to use peat moss.

I've used the Jiffy 7 peat pellets before. They seemed to be okay but because they are so small they had a tendency to dry out quite quickly.
As Petmantis has stated, you'd be better off using pure unfertilized peat moss.

I would use peat. I tried the peat pellets and was very unsatisfied (for regular plants) and decided I would rather do anything else then stupid pellets.

I've tried them with cp's, no good. It seems that every single one I used was prone to get slime or algae. Assuming petmatis is correct, the ferts allowed the algae to grow faster than the cp's, quickly turning a thriving seedling to mush in no time. Thankfully they were all typical capensis and it was early in my growing cp's, so I learned from it. It's actually cheaper to buy an empty 72 cell tray, fill it with your own prefered mix, one you know doesn't have ferts, and go from there. Those kits are overpriced and substandard quality. Like my grandma used to say, 'It's always better when you do it yourself.'

Yeah, probably not the best for CPs, since they are so small and dry out quite quickly.
I've used them for cacti seedlings and garden vegetable plants before. I think they're useful to start seeds, and once the seedlings have germinated and have their first true leaves, the peat pellet plug with seedlings should be placed into a larger sized pot.
If used in this fashion, the peat pellets can be useful.

you could try this with the peat pellets before you put the water boil it and wait for it to cool I mean Cold then add per lite and anything else if you wait a few months or so you will see green and so . It make a touch or just add sphgnum moss.
