I bought this ping at the summer gathering at Hal's place. It receives the same watering and light of P. Piroette and P. Sethos, which are doing well. Yet my poor gypsicola has only the inmost leaves left, the rest of the leaves have died off. What am I doing wrong?

Hi does it look like this pic ? If it is the case, it is normal. But be careful, P. gypsicola doesn't stand water in winter, The substrat must be kept bone dry. You should water again in spring when you can see a little pyramid at the centre of the rosette. Yves

mine looked like that but the humidity was too high and it started to rot, sadly. I opened up the terrarium a bit and hopefully it will come back.

Hi
If the centre is black, it's not good at all. It is possible to do leaf cuttings with this little scales, it works quite well, but you have to tear off, not to cut the little leaves.

Mine went dormant and reduced to a perfect little ball about 1 cm in diameter. I'd only give it a few drops of water every week or so.
Now it's coming out of dormancy and sending up long leaves.
