Half the pitchers on one of my cephs are going yellow. It's happened over the course of a week or so. It's putting up new leaves and pitchers and they don't seem to be affected, just the large pitchers.
Should I be concerned or take remedial action?

? some sort of root stress? Mine seem to do this 1-2 x /year. I usually repot. Maybe not necessary?

it has been 2yrs now since I had my big ceph in its pot. As of now....the plant has been slowly declining, yellowuing and getting smaller. I think it might be due to root bound conditions. I have been too lazy to repot it....but i will be doing it this coming week and throwing away everything apart from the rhizomes and start fresh. what size pot do u have ur ceph in? & how long has it been in there?

Yeah, I'd check the roots first. If they are healthy, then maybe a bigger pot.

It's in a 3" x 3" x 4" deep square black pot. Not sure how long it's been in there. I got it in July and haven't repotted since.

hmm.....perhaps the media has become too compact and you are watering it too often? Cephs like veyr very open media.

I checked out the roots. The main stem looks very healthy and there's a new growth point coming off it. The thin white rootlets coming off it didn't seem too healthy - some had browned and died.
As far as I can tell it's in about 40/60 peat and perlite.
I mist it every night and it gets watered every 3 days or so. It's not in a saucer or tray.

maybe don't mist it is my guess, they don't really like water on their crowns. Just a guess, I hope whatever the problem is, it gets figured out quick-like

Thanks for the help everyone. Looks like it may shed all its adult pitchers, but the roots look OK. Maybe it's just having its annual molt or whatever these things seem to do.
I've got 5 babies as backup, too.

Ive witnessed this before with my own ceph collection, the causes were at the times to cause this were . waterlogged another time it was too drastic a humidity change (from outside to inside conditions ) and the last was scale ..scale loves ceph's . Thinking the plant was clean after a few good sprays . I changed the soil media only to see the roots plastered with scale . Same symptoms variety of cause
