Oh cool, I remember seeing a few pictures of a Nepenthes that did the same thing, any ideas what caused it?

Cephs just kind of "do" that- in nature they tend to have a kind of dormant period where they stop making new pitchers for a while and concentrate on leaves (I would think to save energy and to increase photosynthesis in reduced winter light but I am no expert) The "mutant" leaves seem transitory between leaf and pitcher and are fairly common. My Cephs haven't made such leaves for a while so it's cool to see some nice pics of the phenomenon! EDIT- I forgot to add I've never seen a fist-shaped one tho, that's nifty

LOL, this is what happened... Just like you said Mabs, in the end of July I repotted all my cephs into a mini planted bog inside my terrarium. I tried my best not to tip the plants when I did it, but it didn't work. So once they were all planted I filled each pitcher with a weak solution of orchid fertalizer and then left for two weeks to go camping. When I got back, almost all the pitchers were gone, but it's on the re-bound. They're tuff guys though, even threatening me with 'the fist' if I do it again!

Too funny man, I didn't realize that it was a warning leaf haha, nothing like pics of CPs that are somehow hilarious \m/
