This ping has been with me since July 17, 2007 and had never flowered for me. I checked in on it this morning and lo and behold it had two gorgeous flowers. I tried to take a couple of quick pics of it outside, to get a better color rendering of the flowers, but the wind is just howling out today. Very difficult to get the flowers to settle down, and they were being lashed around quite violently by the wind. So I had to try to shoot in between wind gusts. And then when the ping started collecting a lot of dust and debris, I decided to call it a day for those pics. So I apologize for the less than stellar attempt, but this is what I was able to shoot anyways, for what it is worth. Here is P. moctezumae X zecheri, from Best Carnivorous Plants. It is a fairly large ping and is growing in a 4" pot. And here are the flowers, as best I could shoot on such a blustery day.

Thanks guys. Wasn't as windy as last night, where Edmonton just to the north of us was experiencing wind gusts up to 110 kph. The wife and I went out onto the back steps to look at the storm coming in and a strong gust, just about blew both of us off of the steps. Made us both take a step back to regain our balance. Pretty surprising the punch mother nature can unleash at times.

Thanks again fellas. Odd and wacky?? ME?!?! I think you got the wrong guy DVG Uhhhh...uh huh, pretty sure I'm on the right track there bro..besides conformity is too constricting. It's one thing to be a bit crazy/eccentric, but totally conforming, is to wear a very tight straight jacket. I prefer the liberation of the odd and the wacky anyday.
