Hi, I know you can do root, leaf and pitcher plant cuttings but is it possible to do flower stalk cuttings? Thanks

nvm, I just found out that you can do flower stalk cuttings... That's a good one to know of. Were the Ceph flower stalks propagated in tc or in a regular/special medium? I just found out that vft's flower stalks can be propagated in regular vft medium.

Rymah, I read about the vft flower stalk on another thread, and I can't remember if it was in the tc section or in the vft section. I think Flytrapcare may have posted that he had done it successfully before, And I think he might even have pictures or a tutorial of how he did it on his website. I've been meaning to check into that too.

ive had a typical VFT stock sitting for about a mnth and a bit and its starting plantlets to you think it the same with a ceph. all i did was put some root stim on the bottom and stuck it in the LFS beside the mother plant

I've never had a ceph flower for me yet. I'm guessing it might be very similar to what you did with the vft flower stalk. You got your vft flower stalk to send up plantlets...Awesome work there. ;D I'm learning all sorts of new things today. I'm hoping to hear back from devonblomquist and what he has to say.

this is what the Email said: Hi Devon, Yes you can! I have produced a new plant using a flower stalk - it needs to be a mature hardened stalk with flowers that are open. Remove the stalk from the plant as you would a leaf, then use live sphagnum moss as your rooting medium. Usually roots for me within 2-3 months. When roots and leaves appear you can remove the rest of the old flower stalk.
