Is the phyto easy enough to get for anyone on that end? For example my cousin who lives in England? I can just have the plants shipped to him and he can ship them to me if the nursery isn't willing to ship direct?
Also is it just laziness on the nursery side of things not to ship to Canada? or is the exporting stuff hard for them to attain? From what I have read here it is just a phytosan away from making the trip.
Thanks for your time, there is a pile of plant material i'm planning on having brought in from the UK is the fall when things cool down.

I think your friend will have to satisfied the rules of his country.
For example, in Canada the CFIA will inspect your collection, and you will have to answer many questions. You will also have to pay a couple hundreds bucks to be phytosanitary certified.

I'm not sure how difficult it is for foreign nurseries to get a phytosanitary certificate, but from what I have seen, it's pretty easy here, granted we were shipping under the university's name. Last time we shipped plants, we just paid and an inspector came, took a look at the plants, and signed off on some papers. It was done within 15 mins.

Im still trying to figure out all the paperwork as we speak. Made contact with the uk gov today. The guy sent me links to the PEACH system applications. It's quite an ordeal but it'll be worth it.
The cephs will flow like wine!

...no they won't. You'll buy one or two and then you'll just grow and propagate them yourself. I was lucky, didn't fill out any paperwork or forms. Bought one, and now I have four. Happy growing and as always Up the Irons and Germany to take the Cup!

Do you guys think it would be unwise to ship from cz this time of year? The heat would nuke a ceph i'd imagine.

Many nurseries will send you plant orders without any papers. But if your plants are stuck at canadian customs, its your problem. You will lose your plants and your money.
The phyto will be useless without a valid import permit.

I hope I put this in the right forum. Can someone who knows how to do this please fill in the Answers below? If this works the way I think it works maybe in the next few months. I may do a group order pending on the answers I get from my
questions. I understand that I may be able to find this information on the forums, but it is a lot of pages to go through and I have trouble understanding if things aren't put simply.

HOW DOES A GROUP ORDER WORK?
Question: To whom & how do you send money securely when you are doing a group order?
Answer: The person arranging the order usually has an understanding of the transaction and is trustworthy with any pre-payment. Paypal is generally used if there is any trust issue seeing as you can get 'your' money back.
Question: Is there a main person where all the plants go to and then that person ships them to you & do you have to pay extra for that person to ship to you?
Answer: Yes, yes. The person that is making the order receives the plant material. The shipping from there is done usually at 'your' expense in a hasty fashion. This is all arranged before the plants even set foot on Canadian soil. You do however save on the cost of the phytosanitary certificate and the price of the importing permit if there is a group order taking place. This subsidizes the cost of 'your' shipping.
Question: Does each individual pay for his/her own shipping? or is it split?
Answer: The cost for shipping is divided evenly between all parties involved, in most cases.
Question: Does one Phyto cert and import permit cover every ones order?
Answer: Yes.
Question: If one Phyto cert and import permit covers every ones order then who's name do those go under?
Answer: The person facilitating the order.
Question: Does each person pay for his or her own plant? or is it all split between every ones funds?
Answer: Yes.
Question: What all else is involved when doing a group order?
Answer: That's it. Time of year is important. Many companies don't ship in winter months, most have minimum orders.
Hope this helps.
If you do place an order with CZ chalk me down for a duddley watts rofl
