Since this poll is in the trade section, I might as well ask... Anybody interested in N. tobaica? I have 3 cuttings I can make and trade immediately.
I was also thinking of taking the long "woody" stem and cutting into sections and submerging it in water to see if the nodes will produce more growth. Anybody know if that'll work?

I just figured I would vote, don't have anything worthy to trade for a Nep currently, but I voted for "cut, root, send" from a Nep novice grower perspective- I have no confidence in my rooting abilities for this species, so even if shipping rooted plants would be a more stressful thing for the cuttings, it would prolly be, overall, less stressful for someone like me on the receiving end

I guess that a rooted cutting isnt a cutting anymore, it's a whole plant by itself.

I usually cut, root and send. I receive my first Nepenthes (alata) 8 years ago this way though, as a unrooted cutting, which I cherish enough to root few weeks after . I think that if it is well package (to limit its transpiration) and healthy ans hippied quickly, its should be almost as good as fresh one.
