Hello Everyone,
I am a mom of two boys who are very interested in carnivorous plants. The boys have read books about them and create paper plants that look like bladderworts, venus fly traps, etc. I would love to be able to take them to an exhibit that showcases the different plants. Does anyone know of such a place in Ontario?
Thank you for any ideas, M.

Where abouts are you located in Ontario. There are several members here, including myself, who would be willing to have you and your boys over to see our collections and yack about the plants themselves. I'd rather see your kids get hooked on carnivorous plants than on some of the less desirable addictions that are out there.
I am sure that others would the happy to do the same.

Public displays of them are NOT common in Ontario. There is a modest (but probably really spectacular in its own right- I haven't seen it myself yet) display of Nepenthes at the greenhouse in Niagara Falls- one of our members is pretty much responsible for that one.
As Rick said, there are plenty of folks who would likely be glad to show off their collections- as interesting as they are, genuine interest in them is NOT a common thing at all.
If you are in the right area I am certain one of us could probably help you out

Agreed! Posting a location would be great as there is pretty much no where I can think of down here near Windsor. Actually I think that Syble and Myself are probably it for larger collections down here and really I think mine is pretty small. Although I have about 80 N. Rafflesianas on the way come Nov. But I too would be glad to show my collection as well as share!

RUG: Are you getting all of one form of rafflesiana, or several different forms in that shipment?

I form. Just the same ol green form me thinks. Gonna be broke after I get em though as its not cheap to buy that many and pay for all the other fees, certs and any other taken off the top for import. I'm gonna grow em out all winter long. Boy am I gonna need a lot of pots and room! Don't know what I was thinking. Hopefully some people here may want to ease my $ pain next year for a plant or 2 but I won't get my hopes up. Anyway if you are just keep it in mind and let me know.

Maybe it's a form that I don't have, in which case Too bad you weren't getting any different forms of ampullaria. I have the green one, but wouldn't mind a few variables.

Rug: what would you like to trade for a rafflesiana? I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of those!
