Hey guys,
I have been reading at various websites includng this one, and I have found the Cephs are the holy grail's of cp's, some people don't agree with that, but i think they are, they are just so different from ohther CP's, very alike with the nepenthes, but very dfferent from them at the same time.
I have been wanting to get my hands on on of those, too bad i can't, but I shall get them sometime!
Anyways, what makes the ceph a holy grail to you?

I like them best.
The reason?? Heck I couldn't put my finger on it- the pitchers are very ornate but small, they need less humidity than Neps (and since they're small they're easier to put on windowsills to get good light), they WERE nearly impossible to find back when I first heard of them
I think the main thing about them was the fact that I was pretty much aware of every other type of known CP- I had never even heard the name of them and I had seen them referred to as "The Albany pitcher plant" and being on dialup I never bothere to click- I thought it meant Albany NY and thus was just some location-specific type of S.purpurea lol
But yeah, first time I saw a pic I couldn't get them outta my head

Awww... C'mon Mab... you should try admitting the truth here for a change... You know for a fact that your CP holy grail is Utricularia subulata!

For now I'd have to agree, it definately is the crown in my collection right now Their small, they eat stuff, they have that "rareity" to them that makes things like CP's... um... for lack of a better discription, CP's! Whether ceph's stay my fav, I don't know. I've got my eye on some nep's, but alas no room.... for now anyways Time will tell.

I like the epiphytic and big aquatic utrics the best. Ceph's are nice though. Maybe I should breed U. subulata, try a tetraploid, make a giant, carnivorous weed with giant flowers that will take over the world.

cephs are definitely always among my fav CP's. For reasons already mentioned, cephs have that enigma about them which make them very interesting and rewarding to grow inspite of their slow growth pace.
