One of my esseriana's just propagated itself. I think what happened was that a leaf got sort of disconnected from the main stem (maybe I knocked it loose taking a pull) and grew tiny new plants. I wonder if this is something we should try: just jostle the little leaves sort of ajar so they're sort of half connected to the stem and see what happens. It's much easier and less traumatic than pulling them right off and putting them in medium.

A little serendipity at play here Lloyd? Keen observation, it might be that the leaf can still get sustenance from the mother plant, but aware that it's lifeline is tenuous at best, sets out to produce plantlets with a sense of urgency. You may be onto something here Lloyd. It's definitely worth experimenting with. In the end, one may get more plantlets this way than from taking leaf pullings and waiting to see if they strike or not.
