OOh my!!!! Sheesh! I need to get my keyboard changed. Its all short circuited due to the drool. Damn you D!.....Your plants are too enticing. lol! lol! Fantastic plants!!! I am just in love with that macrophylla, villosa, hamata and the talangensis x veitchii. BTW...the second talang x veitchii...I think you may have mislabelled it. It looks like a spectablis x talangensis. opps! Also just noticed.... Lady pauline cross is a talangensis x maxima or the other way. I am still a bit rough on the hybrids as i mostly focus on typical species. But that talangensis x veitchii is just mindblowing. fantastic. Also isn't that the speckled red albo?? Do you have the pure red "Rubra"?? That is just a regal plant. Mannnnn!! If only I had the dough and setup to do a wistuba order. Sheesh!!!!

Yes! Thanks for correcting my mistakes V Hard to follow with the labeling on the photo link stuff. That villosa still looks as tiny as the day I bought him. I used to have 5 of them ...now I've only got two of them. The photo of the puny pitcher above is of a 4 year old villosa plant. They grow so sloooooooow and are so susceptible to temperature changes. 3 of the villosas died when the clay pots they were in dried up a bit and with the warm temps... killed them instantly. However, even the plant was dead (center and roots rotted), the leaves remained green for over a year (!)

wow! still though...it seems to be worth going through all that trouble as the villosa, macrophylla are just the gems of nepenthes. They are my dream plants which I definitely hope to obtain the the coming years. WOW! 4 yr old eh??? damn!! that looks like around 1 inch +. What size did u get it at??? I know that many of these wistuba and BE villosas (based on Rick's plant size) are like 1.5 cm or so. Sorry to hear about the losses. But well....the important thing is that you have survivors which keep the hopes open in growing that species. Also a pitchering nep is mostly a satisfied nep....so you are doing pretty well as we can witness. No prob with the ID. I am surprised that i was right with them....I normally don't bother too much about hybrids...but I guess after looking at thousands of nep pictures, you cannot surely avoid some beautiful hybrids. I recently saw some pics of spectablis x aristolochioides that was posted by Rob Cantley and wow! it looks amazing.

Nice display, Flytrap... makes me want to get off my butt today and get some pics of my nep collection. Darned this spring fever - that's where the iron in your blood turns into lead in your a$$. I'll try to post something here in the next day or so, as most of my plants are starting to look decent.

thanks Rick. Now your pics are up too!
Yeh, this spring fever... so much to do, so much to want, so much to prepare.
Growing CPs after your second VFT starts to become work... watering, cleaning, re-potting, cutting, de-pesting and on and on and on ...

For those who wrote to me about my nep collection... Most of the Neps I photographed here in 2008, are no more. I lost them all to frozen water lines a few years back. The only Neps that survived were the n inermis x ventricosa, and n x Pauline. The n x Pauline had grown into a small shrub about 6 feet tall, until I cut it back hard to 12"
I'm organizing a CP meet in Vancouver in a couple of months... And had managed to connect up with half a dozen old cp buds to help organize it.

Good to have you back around David. I'm excited to hear that you might start your collection back up. As always just let me know and you can have another garbage bag full of cuttings.
