Well, I know this doesn't really relate to carnivorous plants because it doesn't have any in it, but I thought I would show it. I just got the finishing Bromeliads today. If I were to create another one of these with a similar setup (high humidity, two full spectrum tubes providing light) what CP's would be suitable? Is there anything that you don't have to give a resting period? Here are some pictures: Any helpful comments would be appreciated!

Nice viv, but good luck with the babies tears! Any time I put them in a tank they always rotted out, was just a matter of time for me... Getting darts or??? Lots of CP's do well in there, I use a wide range of nepenthes, have also got some cephs in there... A guy I know got a wide varriety of sundews and ping, and utrics also and has them all in the tank, its been a month or two and they're apparently doing well! Sib

thats really good for a first viv! also what syble said about the babies tears, I have been reading up on them in another forum and everyone seems to have had negative experiences with them as well. You should put some dart frogs in there ;D

Thanks for the tips guys! That's really too bad about the babies tears, I like how they look. I guess I'll have to replace them with some other kind of groundcover or low growing plant. The origional plan was to put a pair of D. Azureus in there, but I've been finding some flaws in it that may, in the end, prevent me from keeping any animals in there. I used multiple pieces of grape vine wood for the background, not knowing that they don't do well in high humidity. I'm scared that they're going to start growing mould...because that will prevent me from keeping anything in there but plants.

Well, I really hope it isn't that bad, cause I see some mould growing. Oh well, I love how it looks anyways. So, at home depot today I saw some small pots of Nepenthes..but the species was not listed. Each plant had about 3 or 4 jugs (is that what they're called?) and they were I think 9 bucks each. That's a good deal right? I think I might get one and stick it in somewhere to see how it does. I gotta start somewhere!

That's a good price. Don't wait too long or Home Depot will let the plants dry out and die.
