Hi guys, I just came back to my sublet near university. I noticed that the one of the rajah leaves...infact the furthest one to the light, with the "old pitcher which is blackening" is becoming yellow at the end and the edges. What could this mean? Damn! I should have never got this plant...its eating me up inside. I should have got the easier neps. thanks, varun

Is it one of the older leaves on the stalk? If so its probably just an older leaf dying!... Don't worry about it! Cya

it does definately seem like an older leaf. The reason being that this one has a pitcher on it...whcih is half blackened since I got it. The one on the right has a developing tendril...the one next to it has a nice pitcher. the one after that has a tendril that broke off... the last one or the one to the left has a half developed pitcher. I guess based on that timescale, yes, the leaf is older. But, aren't these leaves supposed to last VERY VERY long??

Not Nesseseraly... Alot of Neps Slowly climb... And after the shipping, the leaf could of got banged up... But keep this in mind as long as the develloping leaf is growing the plant should be fine... Cya

here is an old pic of when I got it...like 10 days ago: the yellow leaf is the one with this old pitcher. BTW...lol! I don't know if this is just me...but notice the new "leaf growth point" ?? it was more "DOWN within the other leaf" at that time. Now its standing up higher. Does this mean its ok? lol!

I think you're worrying about it too much. Give it the best conditions you can and just let it grow. It will probably be fine.

Lol! Yeah that means its growing and that it most likely fine! That leaf looks like one of the older leaves its normal that it dies away after a while! Cya

I guess I am being too paranoid about it. lol! the bical and the ramispina haven't even budged...but I can't blame them...they have to reform their roots. The rajah on the other hand seemed to have nice healthy roots.

Nep can take up too 3 or 6 months before showing signs of life... But If they were well packaged it shouldn't take to long! Cya

And don't forget... the plant was growing in a greenhouse under absolutely ideal conditions. I find that those plants tend to be a bit on the soft side and when they get into our setups that may be somewhat "harsher", the existing growth, especially the pitchers, will tend to die off, but the new growth will be more adapted and will do better.
I'd concentrate on what's happening in the growing area of the plant, and it still looks quite happy.

Naww, Vince, Helis are easy compared to that sucker, I swear, when I finally post a pic I will prove that even I can grow one without hardly trying- although if Jay were to post a pic of his in my thread I would likely have to remove the "offending image"
