I am new here and am wondering if there is a small version of nepenthes available? I am thinking about putting it in my vivarium for a focal point.

There are LOTS of Nepenthes out there, to be sure- how small are you thinking?? Many Neps can be kept small by simply cutting off the climbing stems to encourage new basal growth..
I'm sure there are a bunch of perfect suggestions, but you will have to keep in mind what the substrate ("dirt") is in your vivarium.. sounds like an interesting project either way!!

Here is a partial list of small species. They either stay small all their life or stay small long enough before starting a climbing stem.
N. belli N. ampullaria N. gracilis N. gymnamphora N. tentaculata N. muluensis (difficult) N. glabrata N. lowii N. diatas N. villosa (difficult) N. aristolochioides (difficult) N. mikei N. villosa (difficult) N. bicalcarata (NOT, just kidding)

I am looking for some smaller Nepenthes that I can put in various tanks of mine. Here is a pic of one of them.

That's beautiful, Martins!!! A Nep really would look fine in there, and having an idea of exactly what you're working with should help quite a bit

Thanks. I just dont know where to get any pitcher plants from. No one in Saskatoon carries them and if they do, i dont know what to look for. I am fairly new to carniverous plants, never had any luck with VFT from Safeway, cause who knows how long they have been sitting on the shelf without light. I need something that will like lots of humidity and I have air movement in the tank too.

That's a beautiful setup you have. Depending on how much light it gets, and how the temps in it are like, I'd suggest you grow: N. tobaica or hirsuta if it's a cool set up N. belli or gracilis if it's a warm set up.
Remember that neps require lots of bright light... something that may conflict with your current setup as I think bromeliads may desire lower diffuse lighting conditions.

I'll post a photo of my tobaicas later today to show you why they're beautiful little neps. I've got six different varieties growing over here. They scramble along all over the place with lots of tiny pitchers (around 1 to 1.5 inch). The only thing is that they love cool evenings.

I have 2 x 65W 6700K with a Miro 4 reflector. The temps are 16 at night - 24 during the day. But that is in winter, and may change for summer. It is in the basement and this is only the 2nd month that it has been set up.

looks like you have a cool "highland" nep condition set up. The N tobaicas would be best suited for your vivarium. The pitchers would be small enough so your animals won't become meals. Do a google for tobaica images, I'll review my old pics to see if I've got one here to post.
