Hi! My n. ampullaria opened 2 leafrs without the pitchers and the third leaf seems to make one.. Insectivore told me:«my n. ampullaria did that when the pitchers will soon be mature.». I would like to know if it's real. I did'nt do a temperature change, it's not a shock. bye!

It took mine a long time to pitcher but now it does reliably and it has the basal rosette of pitchers, too.

Same here, I've had one for several months and seen nothing from it so far- it grows (slowly) but hasn't pitchered yet- every new leafs brings hope, but according to a buddy, they like it pretty darn warm and as humid as possible, neither of which is my house right now- I did just grab an aquarium to try and get some more humidity on a few of the Neps in my wee collection, so I'll see if that helps

I've never had any problems with pitchers out of ~ 10 leafs I've got 8 pitchers and one in formation so make that 9... Its in my mini-greenhouse at ~ 34 degrees celcius and ~75-80% humidity! Cya

Mine took a while to produce it's first pitcher after finally adjusting to my conditions, but puts them out consistantly. Only thing off with mine is that the newest leaf it put out is white!? not sure what thats about! Sib

My neps are all presently in rather harsh conditions... 16C at night, 19.5C by day at a bit less than 40% humidity. Most of them are still growing well, albeit slow, but the traps for the most part, do not last very long.
I have a couple of ampullaria pitchers on a "green" form plant that have taken on a rosy pink hue on the sides under my metal halides. The peristomes are still greenish yellow. Overall, they're kind of attractive - I'll have to get a pic of this on the forum soon.

Very strange, could you post a picture? I have noticed the leaves are covered by beige/white hairs. They can be removed simply by brushing your finger against the leaves. Maybe your leaf has an overabundance of these hairs...
