I just saw this thread by Mabudon: Jay was testing the cold-hardiness of N.ventricosa by leaving them in his unheated Greenhouse this winter, I wonder how that's going And thought I'd share my experience here with you all: highland neps have survived temperatures of down to 6C, this include: villosa, rajah, aristochioides, hamata, sanguinea, macfarlanii, mikei, mira, edwardsiana, fusca, stenophylla, pilosa, desnsiflora, diatas, ephippiata, lowii, singalana, xventrata highland neps that showed cold spotting at temps down to 12C:burbidgea, macrophylla, alata, ventricosa, copelandii, eymae, gymnaphora, talagenesis, inermis, maxima, ramispina, gracillima, xhookeriana (lowland hybrid!), truncata (highland form 'A'), veitchii, clipeata, sanguinea x macfarlanii highland neps that died at 12Clamii, madagascariensis, truncata (highland form 'B') It's interesting to note that even within the same species, some are more hardy than others. All these plants mentioned were adult (mature) specimens in at least 10" pots. Most of the plants that perished died of rot. I also grow alata, sanguinea, maxima, ventricosa, macfarlanii, x ventrata outdoors during the warm months. David
