Hello board moderators: I firmly believe that guest should be able to access this board, as this is a way we can spread interest in growing carnivorous plants. We can also help children researching these plants through this board. But is there some way we can prevent them from trying to SELL us stuff such as the guests above me have?

It's okay Canadaone- "Insectivore" is/was a member here, I still talk to him off and on, he was merely trying to help out- rareexotic seeds has received several mentions throughout the site, and hard as it might be to believe, even 3 years ago the Canadian CP "scene" was fairly limited Neither Insectivore nor Martin were in any way shilling (saying you have lousy luck with their seeds is a pretty lousy endorsement to boot )

Ahhhh thanks for confusing me there Tommy Right- in that case, that is something we can't prevent- almost the whole forum is available for reading WITHOUT an account- the reason the spambots hit here is cos the decision was made to keep this section "open to guests" as a failsafe in case one of the members got "locked out" for some reason (forgotten password, database glitch etc) We can either lock it down or just try to keep up with it, and with the small number of bots that seem to bother with our site, closing it isn't really necessary... PLUS with the overall extremely polite and civil discourse between members here, having spam to delete gives us something to use our mod powers on:D Feels kinda good to hit "delete" eh Tommy

I like the work the moderators do here. This board upholds the Canadian principles of Peace, Order.. and Good Moderation.
