I agree there's no excuse for sending mealy bugs. If I was sending a plant, I would inspect it roots and all and never send one with mealy bugs. I used to get them on my cacti and would just shake the soil off and dump the whole plant in isopropyl alcohol. I don't know if I would try that with CP's, though.

The plot thickens. Amazing the degree of intrigue on this modest little forum.

not to fuel the fire or nothing, but I actually had an issue with scale from them about 2 years age, my psiticinia was coated with scale when I recieved it, the others were fine, but the scale was so bad it nearly killed the plant a few weeks later, and had spread throughout the terrarium, but I mean ya got to give them a break, a public greenhouse that people walk through is just asking for bugs, and that was the only plant that had them, and CP's are finiky with pesticide so there controls are limited

It's an oil from an Indian tree, used for all sorts of medicinal uses. If you search there's a recipe here. I've used it for aphids, scale, thrips and white fly. It sets some plants back but doesn't kill anything. It really suppresses the bugs and reproduction, after 2 or so applications the infestation is usually gone. I use 99% Ethanol on a q-tip to dislodge all the scale first. If you want some Neem you can get it pretty well anywhere or I could send you some.

lol! I have neem juice here right now . I also bought neem oil for my plants when I thought they had spider mites. We use neem in so many food preperations. And its SOOOO perfect to add that little bit of sourness to balance the food.
