these were taken around the time of my "emergency" There's not much to see, but I figured I'd put them up for reference, for when things really take off Here's Mr.Turtle in all his glory- I think you can see how much water is in there- the mix was more like a think soup than solid peat these are of my "minibog" planter, it has S. "Scarlet Belle" , P.vulgaris (can'tr see that in the pic, it's still wakin up) S.minor (the two little seedlings in the front left) some kind of VFT (in the front right there) and a HUGE clump of D.filiformis ssp filiformis (again, too sleepy to capture properly- they're in the end opposite all the other little stuff) The "minibog" has been planted up like that and in the ground for going on 3 years now- notice how shallow it is- in the summertime, it is actually pretty dry in there, but for some reason everything seems to really like it. Can't WAIT to post up spring/summer pics

I can't believe we gave our turtle pool away! Do the containers and pool freeze solid in the winter?

Lloyd- oh yes, I put that Hobo Logger in there this winter- it got down ALMOST as low as -5 but never past that, even when the air was in the -20 range. I actually rescued the pool/sandbox last fall, my buddy had it in the yard and was going to throw it out, but after a quick inspection I claimed it- it's made of nice sturdy plastic, and so far (I expect it will get a tad more brittle as time wears on) it's still strong enough I can move it around by myself by slidin it Rick- SOON man, SOON it will all get hoppin again Insectivore- you should see it now, MUCH more growth, and the plants are all standing up, not floppin around in a "soup"- when I slapped it together last fall, I didn't arrange stuff as well as I wanted, now it's set up so all the REAL tall stuff (GIANT S.flava var cuprea etc) is in the very middle, and the wee stuff like purps and S.minor are all around the edge- I also built "high and dry-ish" spots for most of the bigger trumpet pitchers since I've had problems with some Sarrs being in WAY too wet conditions Hopefully in 2 weeks or so there'll be updates- I want to get some closeups of a bunch of the smaller stuff OH and if you look at the pic, you can see strands of bog cranberry- anyone know if they'll EVER make fruits?? Even one cranberry would be damn cool

I'm glad you got it replanted in time. Looking at all of that that open water I thought you'd better get some wind protection before whitecaps overwhelm the nor'east shore.. Thanks for posting these though it looks like you've stirred up some interest in the outdoor bog concept!
