Pretty sure the red is seed grown with seed from Mabudon.

Healthy looking plants, the red is a very dramatic colour.

Very nice specimens! All you need now is the wide leaf to complete the cultivars... Whats your lighting to accomplish the color on D. capensis 'red'? Mine is still small, 6 inch from twin daylight tubes.

It's sort of interesting how I and maybe others get bored of capensis because it's so easy to grow. It's actually quite an attractive plant especially the red form. Easy is of course is relative as every one I've given away to non-CP people dies within a week or two even if I give them away with a supply of low-mineral water.

That's for sure. I remember having tons of seeds. I think I eventually gave lots away to a seed bank after dumping some into other pots and watching as tons of seedlings came up everywhere. At least it's not as annoying as U. subulata which is still coming up in one of my ceph pots.

I've always like D.Capensis, It's bombproof! I have ~5000 seeds from the past 2 years... Thats the result of ~20 flower scapes... Can't get rid of the dam seeds now! Oh well! Cya

Easy to reproduce, easy to grow, not rare, but I think this plant is great and beautifull too!
