Hi: The name here is Greg Young (please skip "Gregory" which was needed to activate my account on ICPS and here. The only time I hear that name is when I am in trouble with my wife! ). We live just a little bit South of Buffalo, NY in a small town called Holland. Have been growing CP on and off since the mid 1970's. I was fortunate to find this forum from a link on the ICPS board. It's nice to have neighbors actively involved in growing CP! I look forward to catching folks on the forum, and maybe in person at some point! Greg

Hi Greg, welcome to Canada and our forum here. You will find a wealth of excellent info on a variety of topics from our merry band of intrepid growers and experimenters. And since you live so close, you might even be able to attend a function or two. Welcome aboard! Regards, dvg

Glad you found us, I live about 10 minutes from the Falls so if we're having a function of sorts down here you should be able to attend. What kind of CPs have you been growing?

Thanks for the welcome. I would very much enjoy a get together with fellow CP enthusiasts that live "in the neighborhood"! I'll try to keep my eyes posted for when folks have one! I grow essentially main species, and try to avoid hybrids and varieties, (due only to a lack of available space. That being said I do have one variant S. minor Okeefenokee, which I am propagating for our local Botanical garden's Florida exhibit.) I am currently growing all the Sarracenias (lacking only oreophila), Darlingtonia, several varieties of VF, Heliamphora minor (now in bloom), Cephalotus, 8 high-land Nepenthes, a number of Sundew, and 3 Butterwort. I used to grow in plexiglass -> lexan (polycarbonate) home brew terrariums, but last year had a large "plant window" designed for the South side of my family room, that replaced 2 large sliding glass doors. It allows me about 2 feet in depth, 5 feet in height, and 16 feet in length for the collection. Since it is in the family room, I have to bargain with my wife, and be sure to not totally obscure the view with my "ugly plants" as she and my daughters put it, or yes I could grow more in that space than I have! Greg
