From the ICPS website: www.frostburg.edu/6thICPS/The 6th ICPS conference will take place at Frostburg State University, Maryland, USA, on June 1-5, 2006. Frostburg is about two hours driving distance from Washington DC, and is located in the beautiful Appalachian mountains of western Maryland where local carnivorous plant populations can be found.

Hi every body , sorry for the late briefing , computer crashed (spy ware ) and just got it up and running . Well here goes, The icps conference The drive there took only six hours from the falls, myself and my girl friend Maggie got to the university at 2:00 first ones to arrive. At 6:00 we had the reception dinner , meeting everybody who came , not many came out that night (really bad rain storm up on the mountain ) After dinner every body got together and watched a 3-D movie called the carnivorous syndrome (really cool) then a movie on Borneo exotics and then the movie that has to be played at one of these events little shop of horrors!. Friday was an early start (the breakfast they served, nobody liked ..coffee and muffin's ) Then off to the vendors, area which you can see in Jeremy Harris photos (really cool kid) ;D. The black jungle stand which is the first few photos, had tons of cp ( i got alot and don't ask how i got them across the border ) The New England cp group was there few other nameless vendors. At 11: the lectures started , first one was on the medical uses of nepenthes madagarensis and it's extinction in the next 5 years Andreas Wistibu (cool guy , great plants) preasanted on plants know as being Heliamphora minor variants , actually being separate species . break Phil Sheridan (pppt) gave a talk on the Joesph pine barrens reserve. There were some really in depth technical one too.Oh yeah Doug darnoski gave a talk on a possible new cp species out there trigger plants from Australia . That night we ate dinner , then a large group of use went back to the dorm room to talk plants and drink... Saturday was pretty much the same ( but hung over) cool lectures that day were The medical uses for cp in herbal medicine , prehistoric fossil of possible early picture plant . There was a talk on utric's of the great lakes , A cp house in Michigan . In the afternoon there was the best in plant show Jeremy Harris nepenthes won best in show , At around 6 the closing banquet happened , dinner was amazing , there was an auction for the ICPS , Nepenthes out of Carl Taylors massive collection , alot of rare stuff , Victorian hybrids you name it , A speech was giving by the local games and fisheries Warden on the northern picture plant pockets around there. then and drinking and talking to the wee hours in the morning Sunday is the day we left for home stayed to about 11:00. It was a great time meet alot of awesome people from every where ( we were the only Canadians there) I'm sorry if my gramme sucks , but this is the longest message i think i ever wrote , since college

I always thought ICPS conference would host more people than 50-60... But it seems a very nice trip anyway
