on a similar topic....guys...I noticed just now that my ceph.....near the center of the pot...there seem to be two small hairy leaves coming up. I am guessing this is a ceph basal. BUT, does that mean the old one where the growth point has dried is NOW DEAD??

Latest picture taken today 12AUG07 Growing in 2 parts sand, one part peat......same mix Jay recommends. Normal humidity, don't have any cover etc on them and just growing under my four foot floursecscents.

Excellent, I hope mine actually strike- I've had them in moist medium since July 1st and they're like frozen in time, not dying OR growing, just sitting there- and one is in full sun all day long!! Sweet job on this, CG!!! It's a far cry from when I first met ya and we tried them seeds eh ??
