While snapping pics, I photographed this little character: I received it as a tiny little plantlet from our fearless defender of CPs, Lloyd. Lloyd had started this ceph as a leaf pulling... I am so happy this little guy has been slowly growing in size. It is currently about 10x the size of the tiny plantlet I originally received from Lloyd back earlier this summer. It is now approx. 1/4" in diameter. Thanks again Lloyd

OH Sh*t! While taking photos of the clusters of ceph photos ... the darn thing snapped off (!) . Guess I'll post up the photos here later. Well, Lloyd... the ceph stalk will be on its way to you. Dang. I bent the stalk down to shoot a close up ( I'm growing the ceph in a hanging basket... above my head), the flower stalk gave me a sharp snap. Kinda funny when you think about it. I had wanted to trim off the inflorescence when it first appeared, then allowed it to grow a bit to make a nice cutting for Lloyd... then I was away for a bit, and the darn thing sprouted like crazy and flowered. Now its come full circle to no flower Also interesting is the appearance of a full size pitcher growing on the flower stalk approx 2.5" above the plant rosette proper. What a hobby. Full of excitements, joy, disappointments and thrills. Better than a roller coaster ride

Also interesting is the appearance of a full size pitcher growing on the flower stalk approx 2.5" above the plant rosette proper. Is it a little one on a photo from Sept8 (about 3.5" above the soil level)? Should look very unusual. Would you try to root it?

Too bad it broke. I just snapped off a leaf blade on my U. nelumbifolia by just brushing by it with another pot. Some of these plants are so fragile. I'll keep an eye out for the stalk and get some medium ready too. Thanks. Can you post a picture of the growth from the stalk?

Here's a pic of the ceph + broken flower stalk... note the ceph pitcher just growing about a couple of inches above the base: And here's the bleedin' flower stalk that broke off (I snapped this pic a couple of weeks back when the stalk snapped)

My bottles are ready to go (grow). Try to keep those fungal spores away (no LFS, please).

Is it possible to do flower stalk cuttings with a ceph?
