Any info on raising chances of cephalotus seeds germination? They are expensive:-/. Now I'm waiting for next 5 seed. What I already found on the web: - they require cold stratification - they don't require cold stratification, the sooner sown are better - symbiont microorganisms from Nepenthes are increasing chances of Ceph plants for survival in winter; water from adult CPs can be used for soaking or dampening seeds for cold stratification - tropical plants for tropical plant seeds, temperate for temperate ones. - Ceph seed require temperature drop to 17C at night for germination and seedlings growth. Not Cephalotus specific: - seeds sown in clear jar along the walls (to have the light), below the surface (additional moisture camera, plus fungus and mold grow mostly on surface) - works for Nepenthes seeds - bottom heat or ambient temperature >25C, <30C. Also, how long germination takes? Any thoughts?

These buggers are bloody hard to start. Me and mabudon probably have sown 50 each with no luck in 6 weeks. They like to be sown on a mix of 1 peat to 1 sand and do require cold strat. for about 2-4 weeks. However curlingguy off the PFT forum, who had the same seeds as us, has a germinated seed that looks like it will survive and he skipped stratification. So I guess this plant is unique to every grower. Here's a link to that forum too if you'd like: www.petflytrap.com/cgi-bin/ib312/ikonboard.cgi?s=48b0cc4552c1636481beee57eb243943;act=ST;f=8;t=21328hope this helps, Zac

I have been told by many people that they should not be given any cold time, sow em, put em close to the lights and don't let em dry out. Sib
