As the title says, I am just wondering what would be an appropriate pot size for a seedling capensis. Probably any size, but is there a minimun size that would be good? If you go too small, would repotting be necessary in a short period of time? How about for a mature plant? How big can they get?

I'd just go with a 3 inch pot. You can go a bit bigger if you want too but don't worry it will fill outa 4 inch pot easy. A 2 inch pot would definatly be too small though

Stick them in anything. If they get bigger and you still want them put them in a bigger pot. They get fairly big and messy for a sundew. I had one that got to be ~ 6" high in a 4" pot.

Thanks guys. That's pretty much what I thought.
Hey, what's this 'trash talk' about capensis? I kind of like it. It's a great beginner's plants. Yes, a bit messy, but it is very easy. I have had some flower in under a year from seed! That's probably not news to any of you, but it's kind of nice to have such an easy to grow, free-flowering plant in a collection, don't you?

Personally I luv the plant. Yeah it reproduces fast and easily which means its not gonna be much sought after since everyone has one, but as sundews go its a decent size and you can actually see it catch bugs unlike some plants! I am all for these guys!

I didn't mean to be snobby (actually I did :-)). Once I've "mastered" a plant through its life cycle, I just want to go on to the next challenge.

Phew! Thanks guys! I thought I was the only one who actually liked this species! lloyd - I see your point, but I still like to grow everything I can, even after I've managed to grow it well.
