I got a venus flytrap from pinos in march and it died. I was digging it up and saw that the bulb was sending up new shoots! It is now growing slowly, and its growing wide and short leaves with very small traps. It is growing in direct sunlight. Does anyone know why?

Venus flytraps have a white bulb that leaves and new divisions come out of. In your case the leaves of the flytrap died but the bulb was still alive and healthy enough to recover. So in most cases as long as the bulb is good, then the plant is fine. be sure to remove the dead growth to stop mold and let more light in.
