Another attempt with Drosophyllum seed! Great thanks to partisangardener for the kindness! Sorry for the delay, I have been super busy previously so I haven't had time to try the seeds until now. Placed the seed in h2o2 + water for 24 hours, and then using a craft knife to cut away the tip carefully. Sown the seed on moss a week ago, and today there is life!

Good luck Will. I can't get this plant to grow ... Seeds sproot easily but then the leaves become etiolated even if I put the pot near the T5HO... Can't say why. Let us know how you fare this time.

I hope they will pull through. You will have to put some artificial light over them in the dark time of the year, because they are still very small by then. I started a new attempt in May with some seed from two places in Portugal. They grow better when they start early in the year. I never had better ones. Keep them wet all the time and give them enough light. They are descendants of survivors. The pot I still have with the three year old plants is again in flower. The third time this year. At some days I had to water it twice a day.

Thank you! I have LED lights above the plants, so no worries about lack of light. I hope it will grow to a mature plant this time!

Wet definitely. sarracenia.proboards.com/thread/608/drosophyllum-lusitanicum-dewy-pineI found out by accident. But Mike has longer experience. A pity that Photo bucket has taken all users as hostage. The pictures were impressive. All this crapp about the difficult cultivation is now past. Big pot, always in a tray with water and they grow like weed. Rain, slight frost, no problem at all.

No more myths! Surprise to know that there are so much false information regarding different carnivorous plants out there!

I'm eagerly watching this to see how it goes. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to grow these guys at this point but I hope to learn from your attempts and maybe give it a shot one day.

I found that if they get that far, they're going to be good.
