i planted a bunch of capensis seeds a while back, and now i have a mat of dewy little 2-4 mm seedlings. at what point can i divide them up and start potting them as regular plants? should i let them get a bit bigger first? will being overcrowded like they are now affect their growth? thanks everyone.

Being overcrowded will definatly affect their growth, just like any others plants sown 'tightly'. I usually repot mine when they're about 1 cm in diameter, since they're easier to handle that way. I think yours can be repotted with tweezer or a tooth pick if you take care to not broke the tiny root (at that stage, there isn't many... 1-2 roots).

You can put the soil in distilled water and the plants can be teased out easily without hurting the roots.

that is a great idea, lloyd, i think that will help a lot. i guess maybe i shouldn't have planted all those seeds in one little pot, huh. oh well, you live and learn
