Ever tried to put some springtails in there? Are they small enough to feed the plant?

Nice, you should see my nelumbifolia, there's more traps outside the pot than inside  It's an easy way to propagate utric. Make the traps sit in another pot but you probably already know. You could check your water level too. Like, if there is traps everywhere in the LFS it's ok. If only over a certain level, you could consider lowering the water. My humboldtii only grow in the watered part, the quelchii in between the alive LFS and the dead LFS (water mark) and the nelumbifolia doesn't care

I didn't see this before, but when my humboldtii does that I stick the tip of the growth into another pot to propagate it.
