I don't know much (read: anything) about cephs but that looks very strange.

Yep it's from one of my mature Ceph Except for the first one, which is a seedling. Seedlings sometimes do that.

I've had leaves like that too even on mature cephs, but rarely. Leaves that are in between their vegetative leave and pitcher form. It's cool I think

It heavily depends on the source of the seeds. If the seeds are old, it might not germinate at all...

Do their seeds lose viability as fast as nepenthes or less fast as VFT?
