Actually it seems to happen when the parent plant dies so I just replace the dead one with the baby one.

Ahh, glad you posted this, I had kinda forgotten you showing the pic to me in the confusion of our get-together, do you think it's possible to let it grow and see if you could have that "multi-tiered pygmy" we were talkin about (or maybe I was talkin about and you were just chuckling at the notion politely )??

The parent plant died so I planted the baby one before it died from lack of water. Actually there were two baby plants joined together (with no roots).
