Hello, I'm getting some cobra Lily seeds from Seeds and more and I'm wondering if anyone has any tips for growing the seeds. (air flow, media, how much water, ect.) I've never successfully germinated nepenthes or sarracenia seeds so hopefully I can grow these.

They are easy to germinate, just need a 4-6 weeks cold stratification.

As Willy said,
I grew some from seeds in my CP beginnings. Cold stratification of the seeds in the fridge beneath moist paper towels in a ziploc bag along with some fungicide. 4-6 weeks.
I then layed the seeds on damp long fiber moss. If i remember i placed the pot on the windowsill.
If seed is fresh, it should germinate easily. I had almost 100% success. Maintaining cobra lily is a different story however. I lost them due to most likely heat which is the challenge with darlingtonia, keeping the roots cool.. i also germinated nep seeds on fiber moss. Kept them alive for a bit but i had no highland setup and despite my ghetto moves to compensate i eventually lost my seedlings.
Read about darlingtonia cultivation beforehand ! Good luck man.

Thanks! Too bad about your cobra lilies though. Was the entire pot filled with the long fibre moss? And also I heard from the people at Pop's Predatory Plants that a thick styrofoam pot actually keeps the roots at the perfect temperature (they had a cobra Lily a few feet tall!)

If you haven't purchased the seeds, I can give you some fresh Darlingtonia seeds if you send me a SASE Willy

I used big empty margarine pot. The entire pot was filled with lfs and i had punctured several holes not to keep the whole media sitting in water. Lfs is not cheap so using a big ass pot was inconvenient for me at the time. The plastic was white though to try to keep some heat away !

for the last 25 years or so, i plant Darlingtonia and Sarracenia, on whatever mix i am using at the time in 3" square pots, on boxing day or thereabouts, place then in trays of water about 1/2" deep, to cold stratify more naturally in my porch. IMPORTANT, the porch does not freeze. Some have electric propagators that i turn on in mid March, most dont have this though. |I have seeds germinating now, both in and out of the propagators. Cheers Steve

I found out that using a styrofoam pot/basin from Canadian tire keeps the soil very cool! I saw the cobra Lily that Pop's Predatory Plants has using this system and it's huge!

Last year after planting a bunch of Darlingtonia seed on dried Sphagnum, I had a few pinches left so I spread them on some 50/50 sand peat pots of dud Sarracenia seed that was in the lab and it seemed to work out pretty well. These were grown pretty warm. 77f in domes under lights until dormancy
