They're plugging away. Most things I have so far are seeds/seedlings. These are some of the actual plants I have. I guess updates as I've posted some of these plants before. My first and only adult pitcher plant. It's been guessed as being alataxventricosa I think. A bin with drosera and my one lone pinguicula. My nep. dubiax babies growing steadily. A baby seed-grown vft that I kinda gave preferential treatment to. My ping primuliflora doing its thing. D. adelae doing alright. He's got a new growth coming in on the side.

You're really good with seeds! How long did those baby pitchers take to get to their current size?

You're really good with seeds! How long did those baby pitchers take to get to their current size? Thank you! I guess because that's how I got most of my plant collection. I love starting and learning how to start seeds. The neps I planted on Oct 29th. I think they sprouted maybe late Dec or early Jan? I really should have kept a journal on them... The most robust ones are now starting their third pitchers. This pod of seeds were quite viable. I have maybe 7-8 new late comers that recently sprouted, which I'll repot into the cups this week. I think the tiny bit of osmocote really helped.

Your plants look very healthy and happy. If they could smile Im sure they would.
You obviously have a 'green thumb'.
Thanks for sharing.

There are no modest collections, only modest growers.

I do hope they're smiling. I honestly feel better around them. Certainly there are few things more rewarding than bringing up a living thing from seed or young plant to its full potential. I think what's great is as much as one could learn, you'll never know everything. And I love that! There's just so many kinds out there with their secrets, so you don't just have the excitement of learning, the satisfaction of mastering growing a particular kind well or being able to raise them from seed, but the exhilaration of discovering something new. That's why it's such a joy to be able to see everyone here be so passionate about it. And cps are certainly so fascinating and almost feel more relatable in a way because of how they eat. Like pets almost! ...And I got a little wordy cos I like it that much, lol. 😅

Your plants look great! I know what you mean about feeling better around them. It puts a smile on my face when I hang out with the plants (unless one isn't doing well then I get super upset haha). There's little that's better than seeing happy plants growing up and looking happy!

I went and repotted the next round of nep dubiax seedlings and I found way more than I expected hiding in the moss. I was only thinking I had 6 or 7 but found 17! Guess that was a really fresh seed pod. :x If I succeed in raising a good amount to young plants, I'll have many to trade.

My D. dielsiana and its pretty flower. Haven't had a chance to try Willy's pic taking method yet. Hope you can see it among all the cluttered background.

I've never seen so many healthy seedlings! I tried to plant some nepenthes and sarracenia seeds but they never germinated. Although the people at Pop's Predatory Plants in Vancouver gave me some free purpurea seedlings so hopefully they turn out fine.

I actually got more seedlings that came out! And now some rafflesiana starting to come out as well, so I'll put up pics soon. Don't lose heart with your seedlings. I also didn't get any successes from some other seed pods I had purchased. I think some might've been kinda old, but others I think I might've done something wrong, or maybe they need some more time. I've been growing non-predatory plants from seeds for years and probably had more failures than successes, but it's always fun and exciting and I think I'm slowly raising my success rate each year. I'm pretty new with growing cps and cps from seed though. Keep trying and you'll only get better.

My dubiaX seedlings are steadily growing. I'm wondering if I should repot them into pure sphag? I don't know too much about them. And these are newer rafflessiana seedlings just transferred from the germinating container to this taller pot. Not sure if they'd do better in pure sphag either. Their pitchers are pretty neat looking. If anyone has tips for either kind, it's very welcome.
