Hello all, This is my first time trying to germinate VFT seeds with paper towel method, and it's working! Sowed on Dec 29, and today when I was checking, most of them are beginning to germinate! I like this method because you can see the seeds and seedlings clearly. Hope this helps! Willy

Nice,
It is also the way I use for sarr statification but I prefer to use coffey paper. There's less chance that the roots will grow between the fibers of the paper.
Good luck with those !

I like to cut out the paper towel and plant them right on the soil mix, it helps avoid the disruption on roots, methinks. Willy

Hasn't been a problem so far After a while the paper towel also get really soft and I can just pick it away with a part of tweezers!

Great idea leaving the towel in place with the seed. I never thought of trying that.

...I tried something similar except with cotton balls sitting in a bit of water, in an attempt to avoid moss and algae problems in a regular mix. Although I did get germination, I must say that my regular peat/sand mix proved to be much more effective. Quicker seed pop and more seeds popping overall. Since I have solved my moss/algae issues I will not be using the cotton ball method again. Cheers!

Do you plant the paper towel you cut out with tweezers and plant it with the seedling?

yep, unless they aren't rooted yet, then you can just move the seedling to the soil mix surface.

My favourite is forgetting them for a week in a bug tube (super worms for bearded) full of water then plant on LFS.
