So I went down Niagara way to stock up on wine for the holidays, stopped by Cloud's to pick up some sphagnum and came home with these 4 hitchhikers. My first orchids in almost 20 years. I keep telling my wife that I don't get new hobbies I just resurrect old ones.

They look good and healthy. I have an Epidendrum ciliare from Clouds and it has the most amazing flowers, blooms every year. Fragrant too.

I have found Clouds to be a reliable source for species and hybrids. They use good genetics and I have only lost one paph out of several dozen plants from their greenhouse. Too bad they don't carry CPs. Then again, maybe that's a good thing?

I picked up this pretty little oncidium at Sheridan, no name tag on it.

Congrats on the find at Sheridan Nursery.
I have in the past had good luck negotiating discount prices for orchids that have finished blooming.
The only downside is their plants, more often than not, carry one or more pests and that requires attention, treatment and isolation until the little buggers are thoroughly eradicated from this little planet we call Earth.
Sometimes staff will even provide a complimentary treatment - and 'nuke' the plant before it leaves their store.
Anyways, nice addition to your collection.

Can you share the name of the plant...
You mentioned it was an oncidium, but the leaves look more similar to my brassavola's.'
Either way, very pretty flowers and compact so it will not crowd out it's neighbours.

Either way, very pretty flowers and compact so it will not crowd out it's neighbours. I don't have a name for the plant unfortunately. I flagged down a guy passing by and asked him and was told it was an Oncidium. When I asked him where the tag was he said they don't put them on for copyright reasons. I stood there dumfounded for a second wondering what they meant, he took the opportunity to bolt towards the store room. The leaves look more succulent than most Oncidiums I've seen, but I haven't had that much experience with orchids. I may sign up on Orchidboard and post it there, it seems they are pretty hard to stump when it comes to identifying orchids.

Nice job. They look happy.
I'll try and key out the mystery plant for you.
I strongly suspect it is part brassavola as it has succulent leaves with a triangular cross-section.
It could be one of many different complex crosses and in fact be a hybrid that contains both oncidium brassia, laelia and or cattleya. I suspect it is a 'blc' (brassiolaeliacattleya). Some complex hybrids have combinations that boggle the mind.
Unfortunately, most of my experience is with paphs and phrags, at the expense of the oncidium alliance. And of course I now have the CP bug thanks to Cole, so I am even more distracted than usual!
PM me later this Spring and I will send you a couple of easy growing equitant oncidiums and/or jewel orchids that I grow and propagate. They are compact and reliable bloomers.

Yukondave.
I have benefitted greatly from other OCPS Forum members (like Cole Bonfield) who helped me get into CPs through generous gifts of time, experience and plants.
I feel we all need to do our part and keep that tradition alive and well. I think the modern vernacular is to 'Pay it Forward'

I picked up this pretty little oncidium at Sheridan, no name tag on it. After a bit of searching this appears to be very similar to Tolumnia Tequila Sunrise

I picked up this pretty little oncidium at Sheridan, no name tag on it. That's definitely a Tolumnia. I have a young Tolumnia Jairak Flyer 'Fantastic'. Hasn't bloomed yet, but has red/orange/yellow flowers as well, just in a pattern. I really have gotten to love Tolumnia. Tolumnias are the formally-known-as-oncidiums; equitant oncidiums. I have an Epi. ciliare as well, although it hasn't bloomed for me yet. It was unhappy until I mounted it last summer then it threw out hoards of roots. So I'm hoping to get some this year.... That "Bepi" is interesting. B. nodosa is one of my favs so I can't wait to see this hybrid of yours bloom.

I added a few more to my collection. I added them to my "Mostly orchids" terrarium.
