Lol! I am serious guys. I NEVER noticed it before.......today I suddenly noticed that under the mossy random stuff or garbage near my well growing typical VFT....especially tucked under a nice trap is a cute little sundew peeping. I know that seed germination requires a little high humidity and yada yada conditions.....But the VFT trap has provided it a nice microenvironment with good humidity and so on...and the tiny little fellow is peeping through the VFT cilia. He is sooo tiny ....has like 3 arms with dewy hairs and looks kinda like a rotondofolia but all the arms and the hair heads are all FLAT. I don't know if he is a brumani....I seriously can't wait to show a pic...but I can't get stupid cell phone cam to give me a good pic of the guy. Here is a crappy attempt. It looks so nice. I think it would have been better if I hadn't noticed him....so that I don't disturb him and see him when he is bigger....but anyways...do u guys think I should remove him and pot it in direct light???

I had a Mexican ping propagate itself on a D. binata leaf. Plant it and it should do fine.

thanx llyod. I guess I'll move him from the shadows to more light. See if he colours up. I think he looks like an intermedia.

If it popped up in there, it should be okay where it is, I have some sundews growing in some strange places- as long as it isn't suffering, it should be fine, if it gets out of control, you can move it and see if more light would make it go better- And a quick point- I really don't believe that Drosera seeds need TOO much humidity to germinate- tell that to my D.capensis... sure some more wacky species might take a bit extra, but most sundews will sprout as long as it isn't too cold or too dry- I have TONS of seedlings come up in my outdoor bog in places where they die off in the heat, like literally dozens and dozens of the things- they are tough little fellows, some of them- when I visited Jay's house last week, his greenhouse (which was pretty chilly that day) was full of ready-for-winter post of Sarrs, and I SWEAR over half of them had HUGE specimens of D.capensis in them, and lots of D.burmanii as well (I think I had a "CP first" that day too- I actually did NOT accept a pot of D.burmanii that was offered to me, as I already have 3 "invaders" in my collection and felt I was prolly lucky that I wasn't more successful with D.burmanii when I grew it from seeds)

lol! interesting to see how CP's like any other plants start invading if they find the right conditions. Right now..this looks like my first rosette type sundew...it is growing pretty well actually under that VFT trap. I haven't moved it as u mentioned and don't plan to unless it shows any signs of suffering. I'll wait till it gets more bigger and then move it into the clearing. lol carl! I actually think brumani looks kida cute. ....especially from the seedling pic that was posted in one of the posts here. I am going to let this bugger grow and see what he actually turns out to be later. For now though....I don't mind any type of CP's popping up randomly in my terrarium....its welcome with light and distilled water . Just a little update though....I think I am killing off all the sphagnum cristatum in my terrarium. I am kinda being very greedy with the water I have left and use it only on the VFT + nep....I am trying to keep a small patch of sphagnum alive to revive later..but for now ...most of my sphagnum is dying. I have random politrica or other moss species popping up....and I think it looks better than sphagnum considering sphagnum looks horrible if it is in good green shade.

Oh! and heum... if someone wants d.capensis"type" seeds, I have maybe 2 thousands seeds.. I can give some of them! bye!
