Seed shape is one of the best ways to ID certain things, f'rinstance the difference between D.peltata and (i sit now officially a ssp??) D.auriculata, conditions can change the habit of the plants but the seeds will not be altered too much. BUT D.anglica grows in a LOT of places and there could be some forms with sorta atypical seeds... Are you trying to ID plants that you've found?? I'm just curioous as to what you are trying to determine, and kinda why, maybe someone could be more clear if we knew exactly what you are getting at??

I was at MacGregor Point provicial park and they list D. rotundifolia and D.anglica but not D. intermedia or D. linearis. When I looked at the seed of the plant they are calling D. Anglica It did not look like Anglica seed.
The plants look more like a small version of D. linearis.

Ooooh okay... Quick answer- we went bogging a month or two ago and we visited that site, Purpman was determined to find D.anglica there as he had never had the luck before and is positive the species is present... we didn't get to stomp about too much in there, tried to stay on the edges (and didn't want to get in trouble, we were not there to ruin anything since we know what we are doing) but other than D.rotundifolia, what we saw was ALL D.linearis exclusively so maybe the seeds you are wondering about are in fact D.linearis That is my two cents on that, maybe others could give better or different accountings tho
