It looks like rock, but it is wood. I've seen Drosera (D.rotundifolia, intermedia and D.anglica) grow on old floating or at least wet logs.

I know at my grandparents they have old tree stumps that are like mini islands. Next time I go to grundy I will have to look. I guess I didn't look hard enough.

How come the old leaves where so big and now they are Small? Is that due to the Drought? Or HEAT?

Cool photos! What about that first one? A duck chased by a chipmunk? A pitcher plant growing on a log - that's inspiration for the next floating bog setup!
BTW, I think it is quite common that Drosera rotundifolia grows small leaves like that at this time of the year. Some plants spent a lot of energy into flowering and setting seed. That's why they are set back, some even die.

In that picture, the part on the left behind you there where some utricularia. I really wish I could have had a better look. Nice photos. If I ever saw some i would have had so many photos that my bedroom walls would have been hidden lol. In the pic of the campground, what was that?

Yes we saw some bears the park warden shot it with a paintball gun. Yeah, they said it has been around for a while. I am surprised they shot it with a paintball gun. Because it's a provincial park I did receive think they would. But I guess it is just a way of saying stay back you are not welcome. Because being as big as they are it would just scare it.
