My VFT is starting to bloom. It's my first bloom and I want to pollinate and get seeds. Any tips on which stage of the flowering process I should pollinate the flower? Also, what's the best way for a beginner to pollinate the flower?

Best way: leave it outside. Otherwise, ASAP use a forceps to pull off the anthers and brush the pollen onto the stigma. VFT's have a simple flower so identification is easy.

Ok I will try the forceps method. I guess I should wait until all the flowers bloom first before I pollinate? Would using a Q-tip work also ?

Do it now. No Q-tips as there isn't a lot of pollen.

...just make sure the stigma is receptive. Usually a day or two after the flower opens, the tip should appear fuzzy. Good luck!
