Hello all, I just wondered if these are quik and easy to grow from seed. I have seen them and they are very cool. But I don't want to buy a big plant. I thought it would be interesting from seed. What do you all think? Thanks everyone

I think that seed grown plants are that much more rewarding. Requires lots of patience though! Sometimes seeds are more accessible too, and allow you access to different species that would otherwise not be available. This is just a general comment - I do t have any ant plants yet!

We can start together lol. I thought it would be rewarding to. Do they grow fast? High germination rate? How long does it take to sprout? I don't know if you know these answers, but just putting it out there.

Growing from seed is a fantastic and very easy way to grow these plants.
they aren't the fastest growers but they germinate within a few days. I generally get around a 95% germination rate. Seed viability is only a couple of weeks though.

Hi, does anyone know the pricing of SEEDS? I can't find much on the net. I have four plants fruiting currently and I know Cory has a plant fruiting as well. Shoot either of us a PM and we can go from there.

I was just curious, how exactly does one collect ant plant seeds? After collecting the fruits, do you wait until the fruits dry up, cut it open and then collect the seeds? Just plant the fruit as is? Or squish the seeds out of the fruit?

Or squish the seeds out of the fruit? Just pull the fruit and squish them out. Super simple. Then immediately plant as viability isn't long. For the record M. "Spiny Pink Fruit" tastes best.

Thanks toddk for the info! Before planting the seeds, do you need to wash off the pulp first? If not, won't that attract mold? I had no idea the fruits were edible! What does M. "Spiny Pink Fruit" taste like?
