Looks like 2 55w tubes of LEDs per 8 ft2? That sounds great, the plants must be happy under your setup! Hi Willy - I'll defer to your expertise on the electronics. I'd have to cut them open to know what was inside, and I'm not eager to do it. I've got one fixture per shelf right now, but when i cluster my Helies, I'll probably drop two on that shelf. Oh my bad, I was just wondering how many light unit (from HD) per shelf. The unit you are using is rated for 55 watts, 4000 lumens. Too bad home depots here doesn't have equivalent affordable units. Hi Willy - You didn't do anything wrong. I simply misunderstood your question. Yes, right now I use one, 4,000 lumen fixture per shelf. The distance between the fixture and the plants varies, so the intensity varies as well. Sorry to hear you don't have access to these fixtures in Canada. As an American, I often forget that sometimes availability of products varies between here and there. At least on this side of the border, we tend to think of Canada as our BFF's and assume that surely Canada is much like the States. My Canadian friends here, however, tell me the distinction is much clearer on the northern side of the boarder.

I'm using a couple of 8x T5HO fixtures for my terrariums. In both fixtures I'm running 6x 6500K bulbs. In the larger one I'm also using 2x 10000K (purple) bulbs, and in the other I'm using 2x 4100K bulbs. I've found that most of my plants (Nepenthes, Heliamphora, Cephalotus, Pinguicula) do well under strong lighting as long as temperatures are reasonable. The terrarium with the purple bulbs is a little intense to look at, but the plants seem to like it. 🤔

Can you post pics of your fixture to show what it really looks like on and off ?? Don't trust the online pics. That's a pretty good deal so thanks for sharing

This guy is so bright that I'm moving my succulents further from the lights as they are dying back somewhat!
