I know there's supposed to be a wanted section on this forum but for the life of me, I can't find it! I am looking to purchase a beginner Utricularia (I've heard they're easy overall?) which I'd grow in a fishbowl or other small terrarium. I live in Ajax, ON. (Sorry this is posted in the wrong area.)

I have a U. Gibba, that I could split a small section. It isn't that big but I would be able to give you a little vile of it, and it grows like a weed. This one grown in water so just fill the fishbowl with rain water and your good to go.

The sales, wanted and trade section is closed for members until they have 10 posts. I'll leave this here for now and move it when you have 10 posts.

Do you have a photo? How would you feed it in an Ontario winter? Can you feed them Beta food like you can other CPs?

Utrics are too small to hand feed, though you can add seed shrimps or other small creatures to feed them. I keep a culture of seed shrimps and I put some into the water tray of my Utrics and Genlisea once in a while. Willy

There are several catch basins in Ajax where wildlife moves in like crazy. I'm sure there'd be tons of critters in that water! Seed shrimp, probably not. Where do you get seed shrimp? Are they like "sea monkeys"?

They come with peat. Generally you may get lots of things from peat, including random junk (which are good for mulch), sphagnum moss spores, insects eggs, heather seeds, carpet moss spores, micro creature eggs like seed shrimps, and more! It's fun for the family. To get some seed shrimps growing you just need to put some peat in water, stir it well, let it sit on a windowsill and wait. You don't have to though. Since we are growing Utricularia and Genlisea in water logged conditions, the soil usually have plentiful of micro creatures in it as time goes. Cheers, Willy

They grow in straight water and I don't feed them, they eat micro things in the water. I don't have fish in the tank so water fleas and stuff are in there. They eat that. And I will send you a photo when I get home from my cottage. I don't know when, maybe in a week. Or Friday or something.
