Hey everyone, Nice to see so much action on the forum! Just thought I'd give a quick update while sitting around a warm campfire. Have been hiking on the Alberta side of Cypress Hills interprovincial park and keeping an eye out for orchids. Turns out Corallorhiza are fairly abundant this time of year. I'll add onto this thread if I spot any more. The striped coralroot orchid Corallorhiza striata: The spotted coralroot, Corallorhiza maculata: Easy to find large clumps of both species containing many plants. Enjoy!

Just last night I attended a nice talk by the curator of orchids at the Smithonian Institute and the topic was naturally occurring orchids. I think he even showed pictures of the same kind of orchids. Nice find and thank you for sharing.

Great pics...thanks for posting.
I used to visit family in Alberta every summer and I had no idea these beautiful corallorhiza striata were in the river valley.
I have found calypso barbosa in the Canmore area during late May.
Most of my plant hunting is now restricted to central Ontario, but with 46 species in Ontario and roughly 30 locally I have it pretty good.
